In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is "sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" and strengthened for service to the Body of Christ. It serves to "confirm" a baptized person in their faith. Confirmation can occur as early as age 7 for children who were baptized as infants but is commonly received around age 13 by a bishop. For adults who have converted to the Catholic faith, it is performed immediately after baptism.
