The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process whereby adults enter the Catholic Church. RCIA classes are held weekly. Over the course of several months those who attend RCIA classes are educated on what the Catholic Church believes, and are given the oppurtunity to ask questions about those beliefs.
If you begin RCIA, it doesn't mean you are committed to finishing. If you are merely curious about what Catholicism is, please feel free to come. All are welcome.
The RCIA cycle runs from October through Easter Vigil, and meets evenings and/or weekends at a mutually convenient schedule for the participants. Teenagers converting are encouraged to join a confirmation prep program specifically for teens at a nearby parish. There is no fee for the program, but participants are expected to purchase their own books for all reading assignments. Those interested should contact Deacon Doug at [email protected].
