Saint Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church celebrated its 140th year in 2021. Our church was built for Italian immigrants, dedicated on September 18, 1881, and is registered as a Historic Landmark by the United States Department of the Interior.
From its beginning, the parish has been the heart of the Little Italy neighborhood and Baltimore's Italian American community. Through the decades, generations of families have made Saint Leo’s their parish, created special memories and traditions, formed lifelong friendships, and volunteered in our community. We celebrate not only the church, but the lives and works of all who have worshiped here and made Saint Leo’s their parish. Take time to celebrate our joyous milestone and create even more memories with fellow parishioners.
140TH ANNIVERSARY CAMPAIGN ENDS Our goal in 2021 was to raise $140,000 in six months to honor Saint Leo’s 140th anniversary and BRAVO - WE DID IT! And exceeded it! As of January 2022, the total amount raised was $307K after a $140K match was generously presented to St. Leo's Church by the Carl T. Julio Family. To the Julios ... and to each of you who helped to make our campaign so successful ... grazie tantissimo.
